GM Update - Winter 2025
It’s been a busy and productive couple of months here at the Wiri Business Association, and I’m pleased to update you on some key developments and initiatives we have been working on.
In May, we had a successful meeting with Auckland Transport to discuss ongoing concerns around truck parking in the area. Progress is being made, and we are optimistic about seeing positive outcomes from this collaboration.
We heard the welcome news that there would be tougher enforcement and penalties for boy racers. Kellow Place is one of the hot spots for burnouts; we’re pleased that the installation of security cameras at Kellow Place and Druces Road, with a view of Earl Richardson Avenue, have been approved by the Wiri Business Board. In addition, a security camera was approved for Tacoma Road. We are hopeful this additional monitoring will act as a further deterrent and assist Police in holding offenders to account.
Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a first aid training session delivered by our new local provider, Safety ‘n’ Action. It was a fantastic, hands-on course that left me feeling more confident with vital life-saving skills – something I highly recommend to others in our community.
Please save the date for our Annual General Meeting, which will be held at midday on Wednesday, October 23rd 2025. It’s always a great opportunity to reflect on the year, share plans for the future, and connect with other local businesses.
Remember there are plenty of ways to connect and learn over the coming year – through Lunch & Learns, Networking Breakfasts, Business After 5s and more. All this information is on our website wiribiz.org.nz/events and on our weekly emails.
Thanks once again for your continued support. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team if there’s anything we can assist you with.
