Helping Businesses Achieve Measurable Results

Wiri Business Improvement District is one of New Zealand’s largest industrial districts, encompassing over 680 hectares, with room for expansion. Wiri has excellent connectivity to sea and airports, to motorways and arterial routes and to a significant labour force.

Wiri Business Improvement District

Wiri Business was incorporated in May 2006 and originally focused on reducing crime within the area. Once there had been a significant reduction in crime, Wiri Business broadened its role to encourage greater economic activity.

Wiri Business Improvement District now encompasses over 800 business members with a $755,000 BID targeted rate. Wiri Business receives its funding via the Auckland Council through a very small additional property rates charge and is subject to compliance with the Council’s Business Improvement District programme.

All owners of businesses and properties within the defined Wiri Business Improvement District are eligible members of Wiri Business.

We provide a wide range of services for members including member networking events and regular member communication. A key role of the Wiri Business Association is the liaison and engagement with Auckland Council and other authorities to bring about improvements to the area and lobby for the interest of the businesses.

The association operates under their own Constitution (click here to view constitution – attached) and assists with economic development in our area including assisting with the business needs of our members.

Made up of members of the business community, the Business Association Committee is elected every year at the AGM. The current committee members are:
