Total Truck Glass: Truck Windscreen Repair and Replacement

When it comes to keeping your trucks safe and operational, having reliable, high-quality glass is essential to see clearly ahead. That’s where Total Truck Glass comes in. WiriLink chatted with Corrie Harding, Managing Director, about their move to Wiri and business diversification.

Tucked away at 1/23 Druces Road, Total Truck Glass has fast become a trusted name for truck windscreen replacement and advanced camera recalibration. Since its founding in 2018, the business has carved out a reputation for expert service, industry-leading technology, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

“I’ve been replacing windscreens for 29 years,” says Corrie. “I have extensive experience in all areas of the auto glass industry.”

“Total Truck Glass started back in 2018. I’ve built Total Truck Glass from the ground up and over the last almost 7 years have built it up to what it is today.”

From those early days, the business has grown steadily.

“I’ve got four staff, four vans on the road for our mobile service, and now the workshop. It’s great to now have a workshop, as people can drop their trucks in, and work can be completed regardless of the weather.”

Total Truck Glass offers a full suite of services for truck owners, including all truck glass replacement which is mainly windscreen replacements, and advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) camera recalibration – something that’s becoming increasingly essential in modern trucks.

“I’m the only workshop in Auckland where you can get your windscreen replaced and have your camera recalibrated in one stop. We like to think that we’re the market leaders, especially on the camera recalibration side. Modern trucks on the road all have cameras which look for objects on the road and, working with an intelligence system, can activate the truck’s braking system. It’s an important feature for health and safety and it’s the way of the future.”

“Recalibrating these cameras and making sure they function correctly is important; often, insurance companies want to see proof that we’ve carried out the work and that the truck is safe for drivers. It may be an additional cost to them, but it’s an essential step. The drivers, along with other road users’ safety, is extremely important to us.”

Total Truck Glass’s move to Wiri was a strategic one.

“Wiri is a great area to be in as it’s central to transport businesses. Wiri is central within the South-East area where a lot of transport companies are based. There are a few different Wiri firms that we work with, including Scania NZ, Penske, Cal Isuzu and Super Freight – not to mention the local owner-drivers as well. There’s no shortage of trucks in Wiri.”

Despite never starting out with a passion for trucks, working exclusively in the industry has changed everything.

“I never really had a passion for trucks, but ever since we started the business and equipped ourselves with the right tools, I’ve just really enjoyed working on trucks.”

“I think I’ve been successful in this industry because I have been open to new challenges. To work in this industry, be a yes person and take away the customer’s problem, make it yours and resolve it, also you need to have a high level of workmanship and have a certain amount of drive to meet your customers’ needs.”

Corrie’s enthusiasm is also shared within his team and is reflected through their customer service.

“I’m fortunate to have a great team – the guys are just so positive, and nothing is too much trouble. Some trucks take two hours, and some one hour – but no matter the size of the job, we make sure it’s done right.”

“I’m proud of our good reputation for great customer service and doing a good job. I have put everything into this business. I’m focused on helping people and just trying to do the best that I can. The business is what it is today because of a lot of hard work. I’m very proud of it,”
concludes Corrie.
