I am active member of the National road Carrier Association, which is focussed on the transport network issues facing South Auckland. I’m keen to continue the focus on truck parking in Wiri and look forward to using my experience to make Wiri business district a great place to do business.

Daniel Berry
Dalton Electrical
I find one of the most rewarding parts of my role is being involved in the training and development of our many apprentices and young tradespeople, seeing them grow and build thriving careers, I hope to bring some of this passion for training to the WBA board.
I have recently gained chartered membership status with the NZ Institute of Directors and find this membership useful for keeping up to date with governance issues and professional development.
Jeanette Brown
WJE Holdings
I have owned a business and building in the Wiri area since 2009 and have been involved with the Wiri Business Association because of that.
Over the years I have attended several of the events and first aid courses that have been on offer and have found these useful for networking and gaining skills. I continue to encourage other businesses in the area to get involved and attend events/courses.
Being on the Board is my way of giving back to the business community and I aim to offer insight into things the Association can do to help/assist businesses with issues that affect them.
Jeremy Young
JJ’s Waste & Recycling
Having been part of the Wiri Business association for the last year, I have been impressed by the team’s ability to bring organizations from across industries and institutions together to network and learn. Having benefited from some of these relationships in our own business, I see the potential this business association has to grow and continue to add value for both businesses and our local community through creating real opportunities, particularly for our youth.
I have experience working in diverse environments, finding solutions to complex problems. My interests in people and building connections, allows me to create collaborative environments capable of
bringing great ideas to the table.
I see great opportunity given our proximity to key infrastructure and housing to create a thriving business environment that supports growth and connection with our local communities.
Kate O’Leary
will&able
I’m honoured to have been elected to the board of the Wiri Business Association (WBA) this year. While I am relatively new to this area, having only worked in Wiri for 18 months, during this time I have seen the impact the WBA team have – creating community amongst the Wiri businesses, providing opportunities to learn and network, improving the district’s security and environment and advocating on our behalf.
I have significant governance experience as an independent director/chair, as well as business building, strategic and leadership experience in both my own companies and as CEO of others. The Wiri business district is a key economic district for the Auckland region, and I hope to contribute this experience in my role as a board member to ensure its growth and that of businesses within it.
In addition, as the CEO of will&able, I represent a vulnerable group in our community, people with different intellectual abilities. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do. If we can together grow the strength of our businesses and the Wiri business district, we enable more opportunities for people within our community, whether they have different intellectual abilities or not. Opportunity creates pathways for growth, innovation and success, ensuring we all benefit. I look forward to creating opportunities with you all in 2026.

I am passionate about our local area and know that many great people in the area feel the same way. I grew up, went to school, and live in the suburbs just next door. I have grandchildren growing up in the area, and I would like to know that I can make a difference in helping them grow up in a safe and clean environment. Now I am
also working in the area I can see a great future for it after seeing what the WBA have already been doing.
I want to give back to the community myself through being a board member. I am excited about the opportunity to work with other board members and make a difference.
